ULLIN, IL (May 10, 2024) – Shawnee Community College hosted its annual pinning ceremony for the graduating class of licensed practical nursing students on Thursday evening.
Thirty-one men and women, a testament to our program’s growth, received a pin, bringing the total of LPNs to graduate from Shawnee to 1,810 since the program’s first graduation in 1970.
The one-year program is designed to prepare students for entry into the vocation of practical nursing. The curriculum includes theory coordinated with related clinical experience in the nursing care of patients as defined in the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
The Practical Nursing program at Shawnee Community College, located at the Main Campus in Ullin, Illinois, is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
The Shawnee Community College LPN program has had an eight-year 100 percent pass rate for students who take the LPN NCLEX examination.
