Jeff McGoy, the next Vice President of Student Affairs
ULLIN, IL (October 23, 2023) – Shawnee Community College is proud to announce the hiring of a new Vice President of Student Affairs. At its meeting on October 19, the Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Jeff McGoy. The current VP of Student Affairs, Dr. Lisa Price, is retiring at the end of 2023.
McGoy’s hiring is a homecoming. Originally from Cairo, Illinois, McGoy worked at Shawnee Community College early in his career in several capacities, most recently as an adjunct instructor. Currently, he is the Director of Exploratory Student Advisement at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
“We are excited for Jeff to join the Saints family in this new capacity. He has a clear passion for working with and for students. He will excel as Vice President of Student Affairs, and we are confident he will positively impact our students, faculty, staff, and community members,” said Dr. Tim Taylor, SCC President.
McGoy is set to begin his new role at Shawnee Community College on Monday, November 27, 2023.
