The nurse pinning ceremony is a time-honored nursing school tradition that signifies official initiation into the brotherhood and sisterhood of nurses. The modern celebration dates back to the 1800s when Florence Nightingale was awarded the Red Cross of St. George in recognition for her tireless service to those injured in battle. We invite you to join with us in celebrating the achievement of our nursing students at Shawnee College as they take part in this beautiful ceremony.
