Shawnee Community College will host thirteen in-person summer camps this year, beginning on June 4th, 2021. Camps include: FUN-DA-MENTAL Basketball, Minecraft, ELITE Camp, Cooking Camp, Art Camp, Aeronautics Camp along with many others.

SCC Students Earn Scholarships Competing in SIUC’s 23rd Annual Accounting Challenge
Shawnee Community College students recently competed virtually at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s 23rd annual Accounting Challenge. The School of Accountancy in SIU’s College of Business and Analytics sponsored the event for participants who tested their skills in individual and team competitions. The event, which took place virtually this year, includes a written accounting skills test followed by a creative team challenge that involves imaginative problem-solving contests.
Phi Theta Kappa Advisor Craig Bradley Wins National Award
Shawnee Community College faculty member and PTK Advisor Mr. Craig Bradley recently received a Phi Theta Kappa Distinguished Advisor Award at the 2021 Virtual Catalyst Convention. The Distinguished Advisor Award was one of only 21 awarded nationwide this year.
Nu Alpha Alpha Phi Beta Lamba honored during state leadership conference
The SCC Nu Alpha Alpha Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda and some of its members were recently recognized at the Phi Beta Lambda State Leadership Conference. As part of the closing session of the digital conference, the local chapter won several awards during including chapter and student distinctions.

Cannabis cultivation company aerīz, which has a production facility in Anna, Illinois, has donated $70,000 to Shawnee Community College to establish a cannabis industry workforce training program that will provide employment opportunities for southern Illinois residents.

Agriculture Program’s Greenhouse Opens for Plant Sales
Shawnee Community College is getting geared up for the Ag Program's greenhouse plant sale, which will begin April 5th and continue through May 7th. The plant sale focuses on vegetables, herbs, perennials, and annual flowers grown from seeds by the Shawnee College Ag Program students.
In-Person Rolling Commencement Set for May 14th at 5:00p.m.
Shawnee Community College announced today that the college would hold an in-person “Rolling Commencement” for spring 2021 graduates on Friday, May 14th beginning at 5:00 pm on SCC’s Main Campus in Ullin.
