23 High School Students Will Graduate from Shawnee Community College Before Graduating from High School
Approximately 200 students will graduate from Shawnee Community College on Friday, May 12, 2023. Among that number, 23 high school students will receive accolades from the College BEFORE they walk across the stage and receive a diploma from their high school.

Shawnee Community College to Expand its Truck Driving Program
As the demand for safe truck drivers grows around the country, so is the truck driving program at Shawnee Community College. On Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 9 a.m., officials from the College and the community will hold a ribbon-cutting and groundbreaking ceremony to expand the program, including CDL training, a new state-of-the-art simulator, classroom, and training range at the Metropolis Extension Center (5385 Industrial Park Dr, Metropolis, IL).

On Wednesday, March 16, 2022, Dr. Loren E. Klaus, 93, loving husband and father of three children, peacefully passed away at the home of his daughter, Marla Klaus Daniels, in Spring, Texas. Dr. Klaus was living at the time of his passing in The Woodlands, Texas, having recently moved with his wife, Norma, from Glen Carbon, Illinois.
