SUMMARY

Lead the charge in transforming the educational landscape through innovative technology integration. This role requires an innovative leader capable of envisioning and implementing cutting-edge educational technologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and digital excellence. The coordinator will work closely with faculty, administrators, and the IT Department to create an engaging, effective, and future-ready learning environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in instructional technology or related area

Preferred:

  • Master’s Degree in instructional technology or one of the department’s areas of service –OR– Master’s Degree in an academic discipline with an exemplary record in applying learning technologies to instruction.
  • Knowledge and experience in best practices for distance education
  • Experience with learning management systems and instructional design processes

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

LEADERSHIP

  1. Create and sustain a supportive College culture that engages employees, recognizes diversity, ensures equity, promotes inclusion, and creates a sense of belonging by fostering an environment of teamwork, accountability, communication, and vision.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders across the institution to ensure cohesive and strategic technology integration.
  3. Lead cross-functional teams to drive technology projects and initiatives from inception to completion.
  1. Provide leadership for distance learning activities offered in various media. This will include working with the academic division to establish distance learning class schedules, identify courses appropriate for interactive video (ITV), web-based or web-enhanced delivery, identify and train faculty, and develop curricula. Articulate a vision for appropriate learning technology use in a comprehensive community college.

ADMINISTRATION/MANAGEMENT

  1. Continually strive to achieve the College Mission, Vision, and Purposes, and model the College’s Core Values.
  2. Develop and articulate a visionary strategy for the integration of technology in education.
  3. Coordinate with the Director of Information Technology on the execution of a technology roadmap aligned with the institution’s goals and objectives.
  4. Identify and implement cutting-edge technologies, including AI, VR, and AR to enhance teaching and learning.
  5. Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation with new tools and methods.
  6. Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to upskill educators and staff on the latest technologies.
  7. Mentor and inspire teachers to incorporate technology effectively into their pedagogy.
  8. Oversee the development and curation of high-quality digital content and resources.
  9. Partner with faculty to design interactive, engaging, and personalized learning experiences.

ACCOUNTABILITY

  1. Stay abreast of global trends and advancements in educational technology.
  2. Conduct regular assessments of technology initiatives, analyzing data to measure impact and inform future strategies
  3. Provide backup support to events that have audiovisual needs.
  4. Assist with Help Desk for students and employees.

OTHER

  1. Perform other related duties which may be required by the Director of Information Technology (i.e. duties that may not be specifically listed in the class specification or position description, but are generally within the occupational series and responsibility level associated with the employee’s class of work).
  2. General work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. Evening or weekend hours may be required to participate in other college activities outside of regular working hours.

  • Deep understanding of instructional design and effective teaching practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement long-term plans aligned with institutional goals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics to evaluate the success of technology initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies and changing educational needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position.  Lifting items to 30 pounds in weight.

Willingness and ability to safely use a ladder.

WORK ENVIRONMENT    

Work is primarily in an office/school environment.  Noise levels usually are moderate.

SALARY RANGE:  $60,000 – $62,000
